Toy Bank, A Gift Of Love By Cheras LeisureMall

Christmas is a time of giving & caring and once again Cheras LeisureMall fulfilled the wishes of over 800 children from 16 children's homes as over 5400 gifts of love were collected for the children in need. A simple gesture can make these children very happy during this festive season.

"Toy Bank, A Gift Of Love", is an annual community program by Cheras LeisureMall to create a platform for the public to grant these children their wishes. From 24 November to 26 December 2018, colorful Wish List Cards bearing three wishes by the children from participating homes were hung up at the Toy Bank located at Ground Floor Concourse. 

Cheras LeisureMall selected the following children's homes and charity organisations :

9.   Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary KL

10. Pertubuhan Pengurusan Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Anning Ipoh

11. Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah

12. Rainbow Homes

13. Rumah Shalom

14. Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera

15. San Bao Gong Charity Home

16. San Pedro Orphanage Home 

Mr. Subramaniam Apparow, Senior Manager, Property Division, PPB Group Berhad said, "Christmas is not just about giving to others, but also caring for them as well. The Toy Bank initiative has become a continued tradition for Cheras LeisureMall, and this initiative has shown us that there are so many kind members of the public within our neighborhood who truly care for others." He added that the support of these good Samaritans is what drives the growth of this community initiative. He thanked all the Cheras LeisureMall patrons. He also thanked their tenants, ChicKing & UniqTee for contributing 10% and 5% respectively of their gross sales towards the Toy Bank initiative.

About 200 children were treated for a special screening of the movie 'Mary Poppins Returns' by Golden Screen Cinemas followed by delicious lunch at ChiKing. Besides this, there was also ChiKing mascot & Santa Clause appearance, face painting activities, a magic show and balloon sculpture by a clown magician and also cotton candy and lollipops given to the children. It was indeed a happy and unforgettable day for these children.
