Scott’s and 99Speedmart Join Forces to Launch Donation Campaign to Serve Underprivileged Children’s Nutritional Needs

Scott's, the market leader in the kids supplement category, has partnered with 99Speedmart to launch the "BUY1DONATE1" campaign. For every Scott's product purchased at any 99Speedmart store nationwide between 13 October and 13 November 2023, the brand will donate another. The goal of the campaign is to donate a total of 30,000 Scott's products such as Scott’s Vitamin C, Scott’s Multivitamin Gummies, and Scott’s Emulsion, to orphanage homes within Klang Valley.

Bryan Wong, General Manager, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei (MSB), Haleon, said: “At Haleon, we are committed to do more to tackle barriers that stand in the way of people’s better everyday health. We do so by understanding what holds people back from better everyday health so we can include them in opportunities to improve and achieve better health outcomes. The campaign will also include weekly visits to 5-10 orphanage homes in Klang Valley by the Scott's team and its mascot. These visits will include the distribution of Scott's products, creating memorable moments filled with joy and laughter.

Visit to Museum Of Illusions During School Holidays

During this school holiday, I brought my two kids and my dad to visit Museum Of Illusions. It is located on the 1st floor of Ansa Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang. 

This is the place where you can see things that may not be true. Our brain gathers information from our senses, enhancing some details and ignoring others. This is where you will open your mind, twisting and turning your inner thoughts. 

We had a lot of fun exploring the different illusions, tried solving puzzles and let our imagination run wild. 

Kaleidoscope

The goal of this puzzle is to move the piece with the red dot out of the opposite side of the table. There are a total of 70 steps to solve this.

Optical illusions

I walked into this Vortex tunnel and felt dizzy because it was spinning fast. Here's a video of my family's fun experience at Museum Of Illusions.

JennOrtho - Healthy Feet Talk Show At Sunway Velocity Mall

I learned a lot of knowledge about health feet after I attended JennOrtho's Healthy Feet Talk Show at Sunway Velocity Mall on 16th January 2022. The speaker was Dato Dr. Edmund Lee, a renowned orthotics expert. He is the third generation to fulfill his grandfather and father's wish to establish orthotics and prosthetics rehabilitation centre to help people with physical impairment and musculoskeletal disabilities. JennOrtho opened another branch at Sunway Velocity Mall recently. 

In the Healthy Feet Talk show, I learnt that 4 out of 5 adults have foot problem. If you have knee pain, foot pain, heel pain or back pain, it is good to get your feet checked because feet problems can indirectly cause pains on other parts of your body. It is important to wear the correct shoe type and insoles for those with foot problems. There are also special exercises to solve foot problems too.

There are 5 common types of feet - Normal, Pronated, Flat, Severe Flat, Severe High and High Arch Feet. For people with feet problems, a 3D custom medical orthotics is recommended to give support in optimal neutral position and realign the foot with the body so that the joints and muscles can work efficiently to reduce or eliminate pain. Even for people who have done surgeries on knee or hip, using a 3D custom medical orthotics can maintain alignment so the surgery can continue to be successful. 

Bunion deformity is caused by wearing shoes which are too tight and narrow. So choosing wider shoes with more space can relieve bunion pain. 

It is very important to choose comfortable and correct shoe type to have healthy feet. When we buy shoes, we should buy it in the afternoon when our feet measurement is at its largest. In the morning or at night our feet could measure about 1cm shorter. It is also important to have about two fingers spacing at the back of sports or school shoes for maximum comfort.

It is advisable to bring children below 12 years old to get their feet checked because it is easier to correct their feet problem when young.
