Cre Arts Asia, Southeast Asia's Modern Circus Is Back To Wow Audiences

Cre Arts Asia is Southeast Asia's largest modern circus and they will be performing for the second time at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) from 30 November - 2 December 2018. If you had been following my blog, probably you knew that my family and I watched their awesome performance last year. To read more about last year's Press Conference, click HERE and to read more about the actual show performance we experienced, read HERE. We are very excited that Cre Arts Asia will be performing again because their gravity-defying acts were the best my family has seen so far.

This year's performance will be a magical, mystical journey into the world of a Polynesian myth, transporting audiences to the mysterious Planet V, some 173 light years away. Combining aerial and flow dance, visual arts and gravity-defying stunts, the show will take you on a journey to encounter creatures and beings of a planet far, far away, where imagination brings to life a fantasy world thriving on the four elements - air, water, earth and fire. This year, audiences can expect a bigger and better performance with more talented performers.

Cre Arts Asia is made up of Malaysia's leading home-grown performing arts studios, namely Viva Circus, an award-winning physical arts theatre company; and Psycusix, Malaysia's leading modern circus performing arts group. Cre is jointly produced by Chris Lo, Production & Event Director together with show producer, Yiki Chan and choreographed by creme de la creme masters in the industry like Nana Liew, creative director and dance choreographer, Afique Khaikal, flow arts choreographer, Samantha Lee, aerial and pole act choreographer who are also cast of the show.

I attended the press conference held at ANT Cafe & Bar to know more about the coming Cre Arts Asia's performances. Khaikal said that there is hope and aspiration to entertain audiences with smart play of lightings and flow arts starting with Malaysian audiences followed by Asia Pacific regions, Europe and the United States.

Nana Liew added "Gone are the days where animals, clowns are used as casts in a circus show. In Cre Arts Asia's show, there is strictly no animals used except for passionate artiste performing the show using pyrotechnics by the Poi artist, gravity-defying acts by the aerialist flow artistes."

Passionate and vowed to be married to the world of performing arts since she was 13 years old, Yiki Chan, producer of Cre expressed her thoughts over the spectacular production. "Our goal is not just to provide amazing entertainment, but also to share our passions and become advocates in the elevation of performing arts in Malaysia. We want to inspire, educate and encourage the young to be actively involved in the arts. Hence, we are working together again to create another spellbinding show suitable for the whole family to enjoy on the weekend leading up to the end of the year."
