The Straits Hotel & Suites Melaka

Last weekend my family had a short 3 days 2 nights fun vacation in Melaka. We stayed at The Straits Hotel & Suites Melaka which is located in the heart of historical city of Melaka and UNESCO World Heritage site. There are 352 rooms designed elegantly for maximum comfort. This 4 star hotel is within walking distance to most tourist attraction spots such as The Stadthuys, St. Paul's Church, Jonker Street and A'Famosa. It is just 2 minutes walk to shopping centers.

When I walked into the hotel lobby, I saw a very spacious and comfortable waiting area with complimentary orange juice, cookies and snacks. There was a cafe where you can buy other drinks and snacks too. I felt very relaxed here and my children loved to eat their cookies.

The friendly staffs at the receptionist area were fast with my check in. They collected RM 100 refundable deposit and RM 8 for heritage tax for 2 days. The staff told me to get a parking card at Level 1 by giving the parking management RM 30 refundable deposit. This is because Straits Hotel & Suites building is connected to Novotel Hotel and both share the same parking spaces.

There are four types of rooms - Deluxe Twin, Deluxe King, Premier Suite and Straits Suite. My family stayed at the Straits Suite room and Deluxe King room which were linked through a door. Both these rooms had a balcony and comes with comfortable king size bed, LCD TV,  kitchen cabinet with a sink and complimentary mineral waters, coffee and tea, toilet amenities, shower, free wifi, mini fridge, wardrobe, bathrobes, safety box, hair dryer and slippers.

The Straits Suite room is bigger with a dining table, living area with comfortable sofas and television. The bathroom has a bath tub and iron & ironing board are provided. We loved the Straits Suite room as it was more spacious and my children love to play at the bath tub.

A complete set of amenities which included sewing kit, comb, shower cap, tooth brushes, shaving kit, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, sanitary bags and cotton buds.

The hotel has a great view and we could see the sea view from our room on the 22nd floor.

There is an infinity swimming pool on the 23rd floor where my children and husband enjoyed themselves. The swimming pool has a depth of 1.2 meters. The view here was very beautiful here. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is also served here besides the pool area. There is also 2 sauna rooms located next to the pool for you to relax and lose weight.

The hotel provides daily buffet breakfast on the 23rd floor besides the pool. There is a wide range of delicious food served here. Breakfast is served from 7am -10am.

We ordered delicious meals for lunch and dinner here. Dining here was very enjoyable as we could see the beautiful view of Melaka town. The day and night views both look so scenic and beautiful. Below are some photos we took during our 3 days here.

Sea Bass was my husband's favorite, the fish was fresh and tasty.

Every Sunday from 12pm-5pm, The Straits Hotel & Suites Melaka offers a variety of delicious buffet. We had mini burger, roti canai, satay, pizza, fried chicken wings and lots more. There was coloring activity for kids after meals.

Grand Launch of Sungei Wang Garden of Welath To kick start the campaign, the Grand Launch of Sungei Wang Garden of Wealth was held on 6 January 2018. The launch was kicked off with a stunning acrobatic lion dance performance by the multiple international award winning dance troupe, Kwong Ngai Lion Dance.

Thereafter, a video on Sungei Wang CNY Charity Initiative was shown where Sungei Wang
management visited Rumah Victory Children & Youth Home together with GOXUAN MC Joe & Christal. Sungei Wang donated some daily necessities to the home as well as conducted spring cleaning and decorated the home. SCCA was present to provide free hair-cut to the children of the home and the children were entertained by lion dance and appearance of God of Fortune. The home visit ended with a YuSheng tossing session with everyone.

The launch was officiated by Ms Yuen May Chee, Complex Manager of Sungei Wang, Ms Serena Tan, Head of Marketing Communications of Sungei Wang, GOXUAN MC Joe & Catherine together with Q-Genz by tossing the YuSheng to signify the abundance, prosperity and good luck to kick start the year.
