Theme Park Hotel at Resorts World Genting

The Theme Park Hotel which used to be just beside the theme park entrance was one of my favorite hotels to stay when I visited Resorts World Genting when I was younger. Since the closure of the theme park in 2013, the Theme Park Hotel followed too but only to be renovated and re-emerged to give a whole new generation of thrill seekers an insight into creative hotel expansion. With no structural changes, the hotel still retains its 448 rooms but with the new concept, 'all you see is not all you get' makes the rooms more spacious with more beds and suitable for families with more people to stay in. This is a great concept when families want to stay in a single room instead of staying in 2 or 3 separate rooms. The fun designs at this hotel increases the excitement which awaits the coming Twentieth Century Fox World.

Lobby Reception

Giant Tea Cups

When I walked into Theme Park Hotel, my imagination brought me to a magical and fantastical place. There was a pillar of higgledy piggledy stacked giant tea cups which reached the ceiling. There was also a giant bench for customers to sit while waiting for check-in. I felt like I was shrunk to a small person when I saw these tea cups and giant bench.

Giant Bench

The 8,000 sq ft lobby also has a trick mirror which gives guests the sensation of a new world of creative madness, mirroring Alice's reaction as she fell into the rabbit hole in the classic Lewis Carrol story - Alice in Wonderland. We really had fun taking photos with different poses here. When you are here, remember to take your creative photos for remembrance.

The public restrooms are also quirky and whimsical, featuring a theme of polka dots and psychedelic Easter eggs. All these designs make the hotel a fun place to stay and increases guests excitement especially for children and young adults.

The purplish light at the corridor makes me feel so warm and cozy.

Room numbers are hand painted on the floor in front of each room.

Vending machine for your convenience

There are 4 types of rooms at Theme Park Hotel - Quad rooms, Sixers rooms, Honeymoon suites and the Handicapped rooms.

My children and I stayed at the sixers room which has 3 queen-sized beds including a bunk bed in the 300 sq ft space. These rooms are suitable for families and can accommodate up to 6 people. There are lots of cute and creative line art and cartoons as we entered the room. The rooms feature a built in, tatami-style raised platform with 2 queen sized mattresses and another build-up bunk bed above the platform which holds another queen sized mattress.

Mini fridge with complimentary mineral water bottles, kettle and telephone

 Slippers and a safety box

The raised sleeping platforms serve as storage space for luggage

Clothes can be hung on knobs where artists have drawn the outlines of closets. The television set is hung on brackets with artwork around it to make it seem like it is enclosed in a TV cabinet. The designs are according to the 'line of sight' theory which gives the impression of space.

There are 2 sinks, separate toilet and shower rooms

Soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, shower cap and toothbrushes are provided.

This is a short video I took of my room.

Quad Rooms have 2 queen-sized beds in 260 sq ft of space which can accommodate 4 people. There is 1 sink and the toilets are slightly smaller than the sixers room toilets.

There are also the handicapped rooms which are very spacious and convenient for those in wheel chairs.

The four honeymoon suites overlooks an uninterrupted panorama of the Genting valley offering stunning views of natural mountain forests. The suites are designed with the four fun stages of romance - courtship, proposal, wedding and honeymoon. We did not have a chance to view this honeymoon suite because they were occupied.

My Q-Switch Laser Experience at Clinic MF

I was at Clinic MF at Mid Valley to try out their Q-Switch Laser recently. There are Clinic MF branches, one is at The Boulevard, Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur and the other is at Atria Shopping Gallery, Petaling Jaya. The staffs were friendly and greeted me. They gave me a form to fill out my details.

In the consultation room, Dr. Felicia Soong checked my skin and looked at areas on my face where I needed the laser to be done. Q-Switch Laser is one of the most technologically advanced lasers that is FDA approved for cleaning out embedded dead cells which includes both superficial and deep hyper-pigmented conditions. She told me the benefits of Q-Switch Laser which includes :

1. Speeding up renewal process
2. Minimizing pores, refine lines and brightening skin tones
3. Effectively treats various types of pigmentation such as aging spots, melasma as well as vascular lesions.
4. Tattoo removal.

I was asked to lie down on this clean bed to have the pre-cleansing treatment done. My face was cleansed and I had the anaesthetic cream put on areas which needed treatment. This process lasted about 15 to 20 minutes.

The next procedure was the Q-Switch laser done by Dr. Felicia in another room. She was a very good doctor because she asked questions to make sure I was comfortable and feeling fine. When she was doing this Q-switch laser treatment, I felt my face hot and slightly painful at treated areas. The pain was bearable as I had anaesthetic cream put on my face earlier. I could smell slight burnt smell while doing this. If you feel any discomfort that is not bearable, you can always tell the doctor to reduce the intensity level. This treatment lasted about 15 to 20 minutes.

The last procedure is the post treatment which includes putting the cold Hydrogel mask which really made me feel better after the hot laser treatment. The beautician also put moisturizer and sunscreen on my face. I was told to that there will be slight redness for about an hour. For the spot treatment like freckles or solar lentigenes, KTP mode will be used. A small scab could form within the next 2 to 3 days but do not scratch it. Just let it fall off naturally around the 5th day.

Dr. Felicia told me to put sunblock daily and since my skin will feel dry, I need to put moisturizer or hydrating mask 3 times a day for the first 5 days. After this Q-switch laser, I am allowed to wash my face and put on makeup like usual. Normal facial is also allowed. Stay away from the sun light and do not use toner for first 3 days, do not use any facial scrub for the next 2 weeks.

This was a good experience for me trying out the Q-Switch Laser treatment. Hope my skin will look better with less scars and fine lines. If you are interested to try this treatment, you can check out Clinic MF's FACEBOOK or INSTAGRAM to find out more.

ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILDREN TO BE WILDLIFE HEROES!

People around the world, especially children are fascinated by wildlife and nature. Hence, we need them, our future generation, to stand up and be our Wildlife Heroes to make a change in preservation efforts!

Sunway Theme Parks is on a lookout for junior heroes between the age of seven to 12 years old to form a wildlife council to learn together; at the same time, to develop knowledge and affection; leading to a lifelong love for both wildlife and nature. The two theme parks (Sunway Lagoon and Sunway Lost World Of Tambun) under Sunway Theme Parks will be hosting its inaugural Wildlife Heroes campaign, the first ever wildlife programme in Asia comprising entirely of kids!

Designed and made for kids, the Wildlife Heroes campaign is a programme that include both fun and educational elements. The mission is to allow children to immerse themselves with the animal and nature world in ways that are entertaining, interactive and enriching; in a wonderfully controlled and safe environment. So, if you have children who are passionate about wildlife and nature, this may just be something for you to consider.

Selected candidates will get an experience of a lifetime of nature’s best in Sunway Lost World Of Tambun, a theme park set amidst lush greens, caves, hot springs and limestone hills of over 400 million years old; while on the other hand, in Sunway Lagoon, they will experience the wild with over 150 species of animals from around the world in the middle of concrete jungle, Klang Valley. With that, the junior heroes are able to experience the best of both worlds.

While on the excursion, the junior heroes will get the chance to share their thoughts and contribute ideas on how best they can further create awareness on the importance of the wildlife and nature, to their peers and for their future generation through quarterly meetings at Sunway Theme Parks.

“We are really ecstatic to kick off this inaugural campaign seeing the number of young visitors coming through both Wildlife Park and Lost World Petting Zoo! That inspired us to start a programme that caters towards children who are eager to discover wildlife and get in touch with nature on a more personal level regularly,” said Calvin Ho, Senior General Manager of Sunway Theme Parks.

He added, “We believe that this is a great opportunity for children to get up close and personal with nature the fun and educational way at two great destinations under Sunway Theme Parks. Essentially, our hope is to raise heroes who care about and aspire to make a change for the future generation”.

Interested candidates are required to submit a 2 to 3-minute long video with a brief introduction of themselves and why they should be selected as a Wildlife Hero to www.sunwaythemeparks.com/wildlife-heroes by 11th August 2017, 6:00pm (full details available at www.sunwaythemeparks.com).

Ten shortlisted finalists will be contacted via email by 15th August 2017 to attend the first ‘council’ meeting that will be held at LWOT in late August. It will be a 3D2N stay filled with exciting challenges and tasks. Selected candidates will walk home with cash prizes of more than RM80,000!

Kravve Dehydrated Chicken Stock Powder and Salted Vanilla Peanut Butter

I cook for my family and I love to use healthy ingredients in my cooking. Recently I was given 2 samples of Kravve Dehydrated Chicken Stock Powder and Salted Vanilla Peanut Butter to try. Kravve.co is an online store for healthy homemade condiments such as jams, sauces, dressings, seasonings, spreads and spices. It is also a marketplace where they host homemade goodies where you can purchase online and delivery is free.

From left to right : Kravve Dehydrated Chicken Stock Powder and Kravve Salted Vanilla Peanut Butter

Kravve Dehydrated Chicken Stock Powder is 100% organic made using 3 ingredients - Kampung Chicken breast, Australian carrots and Australian celery. Only chicken breast is used to ensure fewer calories and the meat is cooked on a stove until a soft paste is formed. Later dehydrated for 12 hours before being blended to powder form. There are no harmful chemicals and preservatives so you can be sure this is healthy for your children.

I used this chicken stock powder in my cooking, it did not change the taste of my soup or porridge much. It is light in taste, a little sweet and not salty at all. It is good for picky eaters because it has lean meat which is rich is iron, protein and Vitamin B12 to boost energy level. The carrots and celery has dietary fibres to reduce constipation. The shelf life is 3 months refrigerated and it is suitable for preggies, children 6-12 months or anyone.

The Kravv Salted Vanilla Peanut Butter  is made with 4 ingredients - roasted peanuts, vanilla beans, organic sea salt and raw honey. This tasted very delicious, better than the normal peanut butters in the market. The best thing is no sugar or artificial sweeteners, preservatives, chemical additives and bad amount of processed oil

This Kravve salted vanilla peanut butter has vanilla fragrance with natural unprocessed honey sweetness. It tasted really good and I love to eat it with bread. It has folic acid from legume that helps body produce and maintain new cells. Raw honey is a good source of antioxidants and phytonutrients that carries antibacterial and antifungal properties. The shelf life is 6 months in room temperature and suitable for diabetics, preggies or anyone. You need to stir before eating because the natural peanut oil separates itself after a while.

You can purchase these products HERE and use my discount code LindaYee to get 5% off the total amount. For more information on Kravve.co, visit their FACEBOOK#kravve
